Hey, we’re human, every now and then some of us cut loose from our diet or nutritional regimen and consume certain things we normally don’t. This can cause brain fog, fatigue and inflammation. Here are some of my favorite vacation recovery tips, to cleanse and detox the system after a vacation where I wasn’t exactly intermittent fasting or staying ketosis. Implementing many of these listed below helps me hit the ground running when I head back to work.
Hormones play a key role in regulating the skin as an organ. When there is an imbalance and the body produces more stress hormones than adaptive hormones, the skin becomes compromised. Of the many hormones that can negatively affect the skin, estrogen is particularly damaging.
Needless to say, diet plays a major part in skin health and can either make or break your path to great skin. This is why we should incorporate as many nutrient-dense 'foods for the skin' into our diet as we can. In the video below, Andy Hnilo cooks up his go-to 'skin food' meal. I had the opportunity to cook dinner for Michael Morelli Jr. of MorelliFit recently in Scottsdale, Arizona. Michael has an amazing story of recovery from depression and addiction and how he was able to beat it through exercise meditation and proper nutrition. I explained the importance of incorporating organ meats into our daily diet and how nutrient dense they can be. Meats such as Kidney, Liver and Heart are all loaded in crucial vitamins and minerals that we need to support our body and mind.
